Yesteryear Collection

The rodeo. It is a banquet of events featuring man and beast in an athletic interplay that is as exciting as it gets. Whether calf-roping, bronco busting, bull riding or lariat tossing, the men and women who display their riding and cow handling talents in the rodeo are truly extraordinary athletes. After bringing the herd into towns, cowhands would demonstrate their horse riding and roping skills in an event which grew in popularity. It is believed that the first formal rodeo competition took place in Cheyenne in 1872; today there are about 2,000 rodeos held annually throughout the country. It is fitting that the rodeo, which is associated with America, is officially sponsored by America's most popular brewery - Anheuser-Busch. The year that the first formal rodeo was starting out in Cheyenne, Anheuser-Busch began using its familiar A & Eagle logo on its products. And Anheuser-Busch's support of rodeo has helped it grow in popularity the world over.

The rodeo is not the only place to find legendary ponies. The Ford Mustang is undoubtedly the most famous "pony" in the automobile world. Introduced mid-year in 1964 (which is why collector's refer to it as the 1964½ model), the Mustang now joins the Rodeo and Bud Light in a unique die-cast model. Marked with vibrant rodeo images and official Bud Light graphics, your model is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
